As posted by CNN Tech, Microsoft has announced Windows 7, with plans for Alpha Testing to begin in early 2009. For all of us that really hate the way that Vista sucks up resources, this might be a good change. As always we are not going to hold our breath on all of the changes that Microsoft has touted, but time will really tell if it is better. They also announced a new version of Office that will run in a web browser, and will be "free", the catch you will have to have broadband Internet access (this is just rumor), and you will not have the software installed on your PC. While that would be less junk on your machine, if you can't access the Internet you can't use it. Lets just hope they do a better job this time. 'Til then I will stick with XP.
